Dead Island: Riptide – You want more Dead Island? You got it!

I came a few months late to the Dead Island party.  I bought the game fairly quickly, but due to the packed nature of the latter half of 2011 I didn’t get around to it till April of 2012.  From then on I was hooked.  It’s one of the few games from the past few years I routinely go back to over and over.  So, you can imagine my eagerness when Riptide was announced.  I pre-ordered the first day it was allowed.  Still, there was some anxiety that they’d change up too much or screw with what worked in the […]

The Difficulty with Difficulty (Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Load Screen)

Ok, I have a confession to make: I kind of like easy games. There, I said it. I’ve admitted it, I’ve let it out in the open, now time to let the healing begin. I mean that literally, I need healing, my character is dying because I can’t seem to grasp the… crap, don’t get behind me… NO! Stupid ogre! Where the crap was my healer?! Why Does Call of Duty Continue to Sell So Well?

Call of Duty (COD)has become so widely renowned, that anybody on the streets will recognize the name, just as much as someone recognises the word ‘McDonalds’.  Back in 2003, critics and gamers alike raved about how amazing and realistic the first game was. It had gained universal acclaim, and surely this warranted a release for a sequel. After Call of Duty 2 received good reviews, it was just a matter of time before the third one was released, and then the fourth, fifth and so on. Call of Duty: Black Ops II marks the 9th game in the series, and […]

Devil May Change – Fan reaction to the new DmC

The idea for this article came about after talking to a friend over the negative fan reaction that continues over the new Devil May Cry.  Reviews have been coming in over Ninja Theory’s reboot, and they are mostly positive (we gave it a 7.5).  The friend I was speaking with was frustrated with fans that were going to miss out on a good game over their hatred over the new look. For the record I agree, it is very petty to shun something simply because you like the old one better.  However, I can see their point even though I […]
