Time to Rev up the Harley

batmanharleydlc

When we last put on the cowl of the Dark knight, he was tasked with finding a way to stop Hugo Strange, the warden of the mega prison Arkham City, from executing “Protocol 10”. After fighting through some of the more famous names of his rogues gallery, including a rematch with his old pal the Joker, it ended in the Joker dying of the poison in his blood from the titan formula he ingested in the previous game Arkham Asylum. If you Entered the Sionis steel mill after the conclusion of the game and activated a Harley head statue all […]

Gaming Gambles: Dream Trigger 3D

dreamtrigger3d

When I’m out shopping I like to check the sale or clearance racks hoping for a hidden gem. Sometimes a game is priced so cheap I’ll pick it up and see if its worth it. Today’s Gaming Gamble is Dream Trigger 3D by D3 Publisher. The back of the box made it look like a mix between Rez and Geometry Wars, and I’ve been looking at a reason to blow the dust off of my 3DS, so I paid eight dollars for it.

Walking Dead: Episode 1 Review

title

As a long time fan of The Walking Dead, and as someone who never really got into the adventure game genre, I found myself conflicted when it came to Telltale Games’ new The Walking Dead game released last week. Telltale has done what I would have thought was impossible, making a zombie game true to the source material, while creating genuine moments of tension in a genre that isn’t known for its horror elements.

Why Rose-tinted Nostalgia Does Nothing for Sega’s Blue Mascot

sonic

If the gaming media is to be believed, Sonic the Hedgehog is the gaming equivalent to a dead horse that Sega drags out for another beating every couple of years or so. Dark Legends

darklegends2

I’ve never played an MMO.  Ever.  So when Jen asked me if I wanted to review Dark Legends, a free game available via android or Google Chrome, I was intrigued.  As it turned out, for a nearly free game, it’s really quite excellent.

Everyone remembers their first time. It’s just one of those memories that never goes away. I remember mine. Ah, those were the days. I was younger, thinner, and much more innocent. Also, I was twelve.

A Look Back at Mass Effect 2

masseffect2

Mass Effect 2 runs parallel of one of my favorite World War 2 movies, The Dirty Dozen. In it, Lee Marvin is put in charge of a group of misfit felons and those facing the death penalty to launch a secret pre-invasion strike against a German dinner party hosting top military leaders. While it isn’t point by point re-telling, what really drives it home is the ending. Each member of the Dirty Dozen has a specific talent and task to do, they know they would be lucky to make it out alive, and in the end only three do. When […]

Video Games are Art (and why that’s a dangerous thing)

halogallery

Over the years, the debate has raged as to whether video games are art or not. Many critics *cough*Roger Ebert*cough* claim that they’re not, while most people involved in the industry and their fans claim that it is. I think over the years, the case has been made time and time again that video games are art.
