Beyond: Two Souls – Review

9 out of 10 Excellent Recommended

From the first E3 trailer I saw of Beyond: Two Souls I could not wait to have it in my hands and figure out just what was going on. It is an amazing to see developer Quantic Dream take concepts from earlier games Indigo Prophecy (aka Fahrenheit) and Heavy Rain and hone them into something fresh and unique. It is clear that Quantic Dream looked at what didn’t work in Heavy Rain and either fixed or avoided them all together.

Beat ‘em Up Royalty: Dragon’s Crown Review

8 out of 10 Great

Ahh, Dragon’s Crown why are you nearly perfect? Why did you have to lean so hard into a controversial art style and that the dialogue around the game focused on breast size rather than the fact that you are a strong gale in the otherwise stagnant waters of the beat ‘em up genre? In other words Dragon’s Crown, should I spend the next decade wondering if you will spawn a sequel, spiritual or direct, in the hopes that the problems will be fixed the next time? Dragon’s Crown surprised me. The enormous sprites, the gorgeous hand painted backgrounds, the way […]

Review – Animal Crossing: New Leaf

I have a confession. Actually, it is more like a confession to an addiction. Animal Crossing has its hooks into me in more ways than I would like to admit.

Kojima’s Playing for Kiefs

In Konami’s Pre-E3 press conference/commercial it was announced that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Limb Menace Pain’s main character is going to be played by The Lost Boys’ Keifer Sutherland.  In the video, Kojima states that this Metal Gear takes place in 1984, and that means an older, jaded Snake.  This allowed him to find an actor to play the grizzled soldier with the gravitas that Sutherland is known for.  A move that apparently leaves Snake’s long-time voice actor David Hayter out in the cold.

So You Have A Cards Against Humanity Set…

Normally, I write about video games, but today I want to talk about a card game. Cards Against Humanity is an awesome game for terrible people.  The third expansion of Cards Against Humanity was released this week, and I know that I will be spending the next few weekends wearing out my new cards by putting them in horrible combinations.

Devil May Change – Fan reaction to the new DmC

The idea for this article came about after talking to a friend over the negative fan reaction that continues over the new Devil May Cry.  Reviews have been coming in over Ninja Theory’s reboot, and they are mostly positive (we gave it a 7.5).  The friend I was speaking with was frustrated with fans that were going to miss out on a good game over their hatred over the new look. For the record I agree, it is very petty to shun something simply because you like the old one better.  However, I can see their point even though I […]

The 16th annual D.I.C.E. award nominees have been announced. To those unfamiliar with D.I.C.E. (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) their awards are more Screen Actors Guild and less MTV Movie Awards like some other video game awards shows.

Remember Me Trailer

Yeah, it’s a bit old, but I am not going to lie, I had not heard about DONTNOD’s 3rd person action game Remember Me before today.  After seeing the trailer though, I have to say I am intrigued.  The story looks like a mix of Total Recall (the good “Get your ass to Mars” one) and Blade Runner while the combat looks appears to be pulled from Batman.  DONTNOD’s website does not have a release date for it, but they say to look for it on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.  I’m going to take the wildest of guesses […]
