New Watch Dogs trailer takes you inside Chicago

watch-dogs-banner-2Ahhhh Chicago.  The Windy City.  The City of Broad Shoulders.  Chicagoland.  Chi-Town.  Beefy McSlaughterville.  One of those might be made up.  America’s second city will be the setting for Watch Dogs, the upcoming open world game from Ubisoft.  A new trailer takes you inside Chicago, and shows off some of the fun you’ll be having there.  Read on for the details.

The video showed up earlier today on the official Watch Dogs website, and is just under four minutes of open world eye candy.  Multiple aspects of the game’s varied gameplay is on display, from gun fights and street racing, to hacking and parkour, it’ll be pretty tough to get bored in Watch Dogs.  The trailer pays special attention to the game’s brand new graphics engine, which lends a high level of realism to everything from skyscrapers to garbage. The engine also allows every virtual citizen in Chicago to act independently, and react intelligently to any situation.  I’d like to see them react intelligently to you blowing up a high pressure steam pipe directly underneath them.  Anyway, check out the trailer below.

Watch Dogs will be released world wide on May 27th for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.  A Wii U version of the game is still in the works, but no release date has been announced.

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
