Mobile Monday: Mass Effect Galaxy

masseffectgalaxylogo

It’s no secret that I am a Mass Effect fan. The amount of Mass Effect related memorabilia and licensed products that currently take up a large proportion of my lounge room attests to that. So when Mass Effect: Galaxy arrived on the iOS platform more than a year ago, I was both excited and disappointed. Excited that the Mass Effect brand was expanding, and disappointed I wouldn’t be able to experience the game because I did not own a smartphone. One month ago I joined the ranks of iPhone owners, and the first game related app I downloaded was Mass […]

Mobile Monday: Sword & Sworcery

swordsworcery1

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of years (and since you’ve found your way to this article I’m going to assume that you haven’t) you’re probably aware of how hot the mobile gaming market is right now. I believe the phrase “blowin up” would be an apt way to describe it. But this huge explosion in mobile gaming has led to some problems. Most notably, deciding what games to spend your hard earned money on. One such game I would highly recommend you picking up is a quirky little nugget of fun called Superbrothers: Sword […]

Mobile Monday: Bullet Time HD

BulletTime

I’m a commuter in New York City.  There are several methods of completely avoiding the Jesus people, the beggars and mariachi bands.  My favorite of these involves a pair of headphones and my iPhone.  Luckily, I just spent some time immersing myself into Kiloo Games’ new overhead shooter title, Bullet Time.

Strap it on!: Saints Row the Third

saintsrowthethird1

I am a relative newcomer to the Saint’s Row series. For years I mostly heard that it was a mere rip off of the Grand Theft Auto series and due to my relative apathy for GTA, I avoided Saint’s Row. Big mistake. Granted, the first was nothing special and is a rough example of what the Saint’s Row series would become but the second game was a treat in over-the-top hilarious fun. So, I pre-ordered Saint’s Row the Third. And it blew me away.

Sins of the Flesh Review

sinsofflesh1

I was browsing through the Xbox Indie titles and saw Sins of the Flesh, a new release by Silver Dollar Games.  The name itself sounds rather sinister, and when I took a look at the tagline, the game intrigued me even more; I had the feeling there might be something more to it than I presumed. My intuition was right, and I was pleasantly surprised by this inconspicuous game.  Sins of the Flesh is not long, nor is the gameplay complex, but the game shines in its story and atmosphere.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Review

8 out of 10 Great Recommended

I sprinted across the desolate valley, my feet falling heavy in the freshly fallen snow. An alarm rang incessantly in my ear, reminding me that my shields were almost gone. Behind me, I could hear the whine of a banshee driving towards me, getting closer and closer. The pilot was peppering me with his plasma cannons, and my health was going to run out any second. But just ahead of me, laid my salvation. Another plasma shot hit me from behind. It was now or never. I strafed left, strafed right, and finally, I was on top of it. In […]

Impossible Game is Impossible But Fun!

theimpossiblegame

I have not been getting enough sleep or proper nutrition, as have many others in the Save Game community. However, while the others have been neglecting those necessities via copious amounts of Skyrim, I have been doing this via The Impossible Game.

Jupiter’s Folly – Our thoughts and experiences #1

jupiters2

Recently, some members of the Save Game staff and our forums were given the opportunity to try their hand at Jupiter’s Folly – an online strategy board game from Iron Helmet Games. The game features mining. It features crystal. It features alien bugs intent on wiping out your security details and playing havoc with your mines. And thrown into all of this is the challenge of competing against other players who have similar goals and objectives as you. Over the next three days, we’ll be posting our experiences with the game, so that those of you unfamiliar with the game […]
