Deus Ex: Human Revolution Ships 2 million copies and is Mac bound

Square Enix have announced that Deus Ex: Human Revolution has shipped over 2 million copies across North America, Europe, and other PAL territories. That figure will likely increase considerably given Square’s other announcement that the game is coming to Mac. The port is being handled by Feral Interactive, the same publisher who has been involved in porting Bioshock and Borderlands to the mac platform. No announcement of a relase date for the port, other than a general winter 2011/12 date.

Free to play game League of Legends cancels Mac Beta

The free-to-play game League of Legends cancelled their Mac beta earlier this week, sparking outrage on…well, the tiny corner of the forums devoted to the Macintosh Beta users. Chief complaints included the sudden shot off of service (supposedly a pre-emptive move for the upcoming release of Dominion, which the client would not support), the lack of notice to users of the client, and of course, the shut off itself.

Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 release dates announced

Nintendo have announced release dates for two of the biggest games featured on their 3DS. Super Mario 3D Land will be releasing on November 13th, whilst Mario Kart 7 will be releasing on December 4th.

Australian Price Drop on Xbox 360 consoles

Xbox Australia have announced a $50 price drop for both their Kinect 4GB and Kinect 250GB bundle Xboxes. From September 15, the RRP for the 4GB Xbox 360 with Kinect bundle will be AUD $399 and the RRP for the 250GB Xbox 360 with Kinect bundle will be AUD $499. In addition, an entry level 4GB standalone Xbox 360 will be introduced in Australia in October and will retail for AUD $249. This new console will have built-in wi-fi, a black wireless controller, a standard def composite AV cable and will come with a free one-month Xbox LIVE gold membership.

Bioware has officially confirmed that there will be same sex romance in Star Wars: The Old Republic, just not yet.  Community Manager Stephen Reid said that the implementation of same sex relationships will be a post launch feature due to “design constraints.”  I suppose when making such a monumental MMO its difficult to get everything you want in there from the get go.  This makes me wonder though.  If you’re playing a male smuggler in SWOTOR who loves the ladies because he has no other option, and then the patch offering same sex relationships gets released, do you then role […]

Come October 14th, everyone can ride around with their favorite crunchy pantsed cowboy John Marston with a special edition of Red Dead Redemption!  It will include all the good stuff most of you have already played like Undead Nightmare, the Liars and Cheats pack, Outlaws to the End as well as the outfits and all the rest of the goodies we’ve all spent time and money downloading over the past year or so.  And for those of you who didn’t find John Marston’s antics difficult enough, there is also a new hardcore difficulty for the single player mode.
