Crimson: Steam Pirates releases on iPad Sept 1

Harebrained Schemes’ Crimson: Steam Pirates will be released by Bungie Aerospace on September 1. The iPad-only game will feature Steam Pirate Action, turn-based gameplay, multiplayer gameplay scenarios, a variety of ships that not only fly but also float on water and unique steampunk crew members. The best thing? The first 8 missions of the game will be free.

Dungeon Defenders release date and new trailer

Trendy Entertainment‘s Dungeon Defenders will be released on October 19 on XBLA and Windows PC, with a PSN version released at a later date. The action RPG/tower defense hybrid will allow for up to four player online or offline drop in/drop out co-op gameplay. Gameplay is a mix of hack and slash combined with RTS elements. I love games, especially video games.  They make me happy.  They enable my escapism.  They make me feel like I’ve accomplished something when I finish one.  Wouldn’t it be great if real life felt like that?  Jane McGonigal seems to think it can.  In her book Reality is Broken: Why Games Make Us Better and How They Can Change the World, she asserts that we as gamers are not wasting our time playing games (I knew it!) and that we can change the way this entire funky planet functions.

Bluemouth Interactive Batarang controllers for Xbox360 and PS3

Bluemouth Interactive have confirmed they will be releasing their PS3 and Xbox360 Batarang styled controllers in Australia and New Zealand. The controllers, which are licensed by Warner Bros, will likely be in stores on October 19th, to co-incide with the release of Batman: Arkham City. No details yet on pricing, but check out the link below for the full features of the controllers.

Short Film inspired by Valve’s Portal games released

The Portal-inspired short-film directed by Dan Trachtenberg which recently debuted at the San Diego Comic-con has now been publically released. The short film entitled Portal: No Escape features Danielle Rayne as the player-controlled character Chell from Valve’s Portal games and showcases some damn fine special effects. Check it out below.
