The latest character featured in new Dead Island screenshots is Purna – a former Australian cop and gun expert. According to her character profile, Purna lost her career in the Sydney Police force after she killed a child molester who could not legally be touched due to his wealth and connections.

Blizzard have unveiled a new community website for Diablo III. The website will apparently function as a social hub for the game, with regular blog updates and featuring community forums. Users will be able to share news via twitter, facebook, and other social media outlets. The site will also feature a news feed.

Gamestop removes copies of Deus Ex from shelves


After igniting controversy earlier today by opening new PC copies of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and removing codes which entitled buyers to a free OnLive version of the game, Gamestop has now removed all copies of the game from its shelves, pending a recall. The recall is apparently being performed in agreement with Square Enix, the publishers of the game but still – removing an item the buyer has a right to receive and then recalling all PC copies of the game from your shelves – come on, Gamestop.

Crimson: Steam Pirates releases on iPad Sept 1


Harebrained Schemes’ Crimson: Steam Pirates will be released by Bungie Aerospace on September 1. The iPad-only game will feature Steam Pirate Action, turn-based gameplay, multiplayer gameplay scenarios, a variety of ships that not only fly but also float on water and unique steampunk crew members. The best thing? The first 8 missions of the game will be free.

Dungeon Defenders release date and new trailer


Trendy Entertainment‘s Dungeon Defenders will be released on October 19 on XBLA and Windows PC, with a PSN version released at a later date. The action RPG/tower defense hybrid will allow for up to four player online or offline drop in/drop out co-op gameplay. Gameplay is a mix of hack and slash combined with RTS elements.
