If you were hoping to be able to play Mass Effect 3 on PC without having to sign up to EA’s new little service Origin, prepare to have those hopes dashed. Chris Priestly, Bioware’s Community head honcho, has stated in a forum post over on the BSN that Origin will be required for all PC editions of Mass Effect 3, regardless of whether you have a hard copy, store bought version or a digitally downloaded version.

Read more »Mass Effect 3 has been given a MA 15+ rating by the Australian Classification Board, who noted that the game features ‘strong violence and sex scenes.’ Whilst no further description about the game was provided, it is interesting to note that the board used the term ‘sex scenes’, given that their classification of Mass Effect 2 simply stated ‘strong violence.’ Mass Effect, which is often praised for its tasteful sex scenes was classified by the board as including ‘sex scenes.’

It’s the usual assortment of armor and weapons, and those who have already pre-ordered need not fear about missing out – Bioware have stated pre-order bonuses will be rolled over and those who have already put down their dollars on a pre-order will receive the bonuses. Read more »We’re getting close to March, which means Mass Effect 3’s release date is fast approaching, and with it come snippets of information from the various ratings boards, who are finally getting their lucky hands on the game. The first to announce some extra juicy news are the BBFC, who have revealed that Mass Effect 3 will feature some 82 minutes of cutscenes. Yes, you read that correctly. 82 MINUTES OF CUTSCENES. They also gave the game a 15 rating for its strong language and infrequent strong violence, but who cares about that because 82 MINUTES OF CUTSCENES.

Read more »Cut content centering around the Citadel, which was originally destined to be featured in Mass Effect 2, will now be included in Mass Effect 3, Lead Writer Mac Walters has stated in an interview with OXM. According to Walters, Bioware had originally intended to showcase more of the Citadel in Mass Effect 2, however, these plans were dropped and the content was cut from the final release of the game.
