Available Positions

We are always looking for talented, creative writers to contribute to our site. Whether it be through writing news articles, editorial content, reviews or opinion pieces, Save Game is always on the look out to feature high quality content from innovative, creative individuals.

A few things to know before you consider applying for positions:

  • Currently positions are of a paid nature. Yep. You heard that right. Save Game pays its contributors for preview and review articles, as well as event coverage and interviews with developers. Whilst this payment is not a large amount, we at Save Game believe writers should be paid for their contributions to our site, and our decision to offer payment for articles reflects our belief that our writers are valuable additions to our team.
  • In addition to payment, we will also provide XBL and PSN codes and amazon gift cards on occasion as a way to facilitate reviews of games.

Now if you’ve read those points and are interested in contributing, you’re awesome! Currently we have the following positions available:

Indie Coverage Specialist

Do you know the indie scene like the back of your PC mouse? Do you enjoy checking out quirky XBL titles that aren’t from the well-known triple A developers? Do you keep up to date with all the goings on in the indie arena? Then you just might be who we’re looking for!

We are after an individual who is able to cover the Indie scene – an individual who gets excited by discovering and writing about the lesser known games on offer from smaller developers. We are seeking someone who can preview and review indie titles – both on PC and console (via PSN and XBL), in addition to writing news coverage of the indie games scene.  If you’re interested in indie games and giving them the extended and detailed coverage they deserve, this is the position for you!

Nintendo Coverage Specialist

Are you in the know when it comes to all things Nintendo? Do you have a Nintendo console and a passion for covering everything to do with the brand? Then we want to hear from you!

We are looking for someone who knows their Nintendo and their Nintendo games – whether that be on console or handheld or both. Ideally, we are seeking someone who can preview and review Nintendo games, in addition to providing news coverage on everything to do with the brand. As our Nintendo coverage specialist, you’ll be Save Game’s point of contact for all things Nintendo. If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, get in touch with us!

 Dedicated News Writer

Video game news reporting – it’s a special kind of beast. And it requires a special kind of person to stay on top of. If you’re the type of person who digests news like a python digests deer – this is the perfect position for you.

We’re after someone who has, for lack of a better term, their finger on the pulse of breaking news within the industry. And we’re talking the whole industry here – console news, games news, publisher news and everything in between – if you have a passion for covering the breaking stories in the video game industry, we want to hear from you!

The dedicated news writer position will see you reporting on the important stories breaking in the video game industry. But you’ll do more than just report – you’ll put your own unique stamp on the articles so that they are more than just one sentence write ups on trailer releases. At Save Game, we like to provide more than just that – we like to inject our writing with a touch of humour so that our articles go that little bit further.  We’ll provide you access to all the latest press releases and breaking news from the industry – all that we ask in return is that your coverage has that signature Save Game flair.

Features/Opinions Writer

Do you find yourself with a lot to say about the industry, but no-where to say it? Are you a writer looking for not just a place to publish your articles, but an editor to provide you with consistent feedback on your writing? Do you look at the industry with a critical eye and wish you had an outlet for your opinion pieces? Then you sound like just the person we want!

We’re looking for an individual to contribute feature/opinion and critical writing pieces for Save Game. If you have something to say about the industry or the state of the industry, or even a critical analysis of the games within the industry – you just might be who we’re after.  The position will allow you to exercise your creative freedom whilst providing you with dedicated, consistent feedback on your writing by an editor.  So if you have ideas swirling in your head then get in touch with us!

Dedicated Reviewist

Are you an avid games player who is also pretty good with putting words to paper (or computer, as is now the case)? Do you enjoy exploring games in their entirety and providing your opinions on what was done well and what was a let down? Are you interested in taking a critical look at the games you currently play and providing reviews for our readers?

If the answer to all those questions is yes, then get in touch with us! We’re looking for someone who is able to provide high quality reviews for a variety of consoles and video game genres. As a rule, we will try to match your interests with the games we request that you review, but on occasion you just may have to play and review a game that isn’t in your area. But – isn’t this exactly the sort of situation that allows you to flex your creative muscle and step out of your comfort zone?  Darn straight it is – and if you’re up for this challenge, get in contact with us!

So how do you apply? Simply send an email to admin@savegameonline.com letting us know a little background about yourself, and why you’d like to contribute to Save Game. Cite the specific position (or positions, if you’re feeling adventurous) you’d like to apply for, and provide us with an example of your writing style. This writing style example works best if you tie it to the position you’re applying for – so a news write up if you’re applying for a news writer position; a review if you’re applying for a review position; or an opinion article if you’re applying for a feature writer position. If you don’t have any current pieces of work, consider writing one and using it as a pitch – it just might end up being your first article on Save Game. If you have any comments or questions, please send us through an email via the same email address. We are excited to expand our current team and are happy to answer any questions you may have!
