To say there has been recent upheaval within the games development industry in Australia would be an understatement, but for the first time in a while, we have good news to report. Rather than reporting on a studio closure or a large job loss as a result of low performing titles, this time we’re happy to report that 2K Canberra has been officially renamed 2K Australia, and that they will be working with Irrational Games on its upcoming blockbuster Bioshock Infinite.

The news was broken by MCV Pacific who was informed by an employee of 2K Australia of the development. Not much else is know regarding the finer details of exactly what role 2K Australia will play in the development of the title, but this is good news for the Aussie games industry and we here at Save Game hope it’s a turning point.

Bioshock Infinite will be hitting the Xbox360, PS3 and PC sometime in 2012.
