Assassin’s Creed 4 gets a new trailer and next gen release dates

assassins-creed-4-bannerEveryone who was holding out on pre-ordering Assassin’s Creed 4 until they announced the PS4 and Xbox One release dates can relax.  We’ve got them, and they’re not too far away.  We’ve also got yet another new trailer for the game, so read on for the details.

It’s been known for awhile now that the current generation console launch of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will be happening on October 29th in North America.  The next generation launch dates have been more of a mystery, with Ubisoft only referring to them as “launch window” titles.  But now we know that the game will indeed launch on the same day as the Xbox One and PS4.

In North America, the game will launch alongside the PS4 on November 15th, with the Xbox One version following one week later on the 22nd.  The PC version’s launch date was also announced, and will be released on November 19th.

Apparently to celebrate this momentous announcement, Ubisoft has released a brand new trailer for the game.  This one, entitled “Pirate Heist,” features protagonist Edward Kenway showing off some mad swashbuckling skills with fellow pirates Blackbeard, Charles Vane, Calico Jack, and Anne Bonny.  Check it out below.  You can insert your own pirate booty joke here.

By my count, that was the 73rd trailer released for Black Flag.  Is Ubisoft going for some kind of record that I’m not aware of?

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
