Dead Island ships 3 million copies worldwide

Seems that the zombie genre is still very much alive and kicking, with Deep Silver announcing to Game Informer that Dead Island has shipped 3 million copies worldwide since its launch in September.

According to Aubrey Norris, Manager of Marketing and PR for Deep Silver:

“Dead Island has sold very, very well over the holiday season and we are thrilled that it has sustained a robust level of sell-through since launch in September.”

Some excellent figures for the company, given the game has seen its fair share of issues including the ‘feminist whore’ slur and it’s buggy launch. It is important to note, however, that Norris does not provide number of copies sold figures.
