Last of Us DLC news is (finally) on the way

Last-of-Us-bannerHave we all recovered emotionally from playing The Last of Us?  Maybe?  Well, for those of you who have, it looks like the game’s long awaited single player DLC is finally on the way.  Those who are ready to return to the game’s post apocalyptic world, read on for the details.  For the rest of you, I hope your recovery is going well.

So this is less a news story, and more of an announcement that news will be coming… soon.  I usually try to stay away from these types of stories, but The Last of Us is no ordinary game.  It was an emotionally wrenching collective experience for the entire Playstation community.  Our fearless leader Tash gave the game a perfect score.  So any bit of news concerning additional content has to be shared.  This particular nugget came from Game Director Bruce Straley, who announced earlier today on twitter that information on The Last of Us DLC will be released later this week…

You might remember that during the Naughty Dog AUA on reddit back in August, Straley and Creative Director Neil Druckmann were asked multiple times about single player DLC.  Druckmann stated that fans “should hear about it this month.”  August came and went, though, and we heard nothing.  So let’s hope that they mean it this time.  Most fans are probably still in an emotionally fragile state, and cannot handle much disappointment.

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
