Naughty Dog teases new Uncharted game

unchartedWell, it’s about time.  It’s been two years since we last saw Nathan Drake in a Naughty Dog developed game, and it finally looks like he’s about to return.  A brand new teaser trailer already has fans gossiping over what it could mean, and you can see it for yourself by reading on.

The teaser trailer premiered during last night’s Playstation 4 launch festivities, and while it’s lacking in detail, it more than makes up for it in speculation.  There are already many theories floating around the interwebs as to what it all means, and we’ll get to that.  But first, let’s give it a look, shall we?

Yeah, soooo… that’s a bit unsettling, isn’t it? Isn’t Uncharted supposed to be all about humor and romance and rollicking adventure? That trailer had none of those things.  Instead, it was full of cryptic hints and an overwhelming sense of foreboding.  There are many theories swirling around the trailer, ranging from a reboot to a prequel to everything in between.  One of the most  thorough analyses comes from Playstationlifestyle.net, which claims that the trailer strongly hints at a pirate themed game, focusing on Sir Francis Drake and the pirate colony of Libertatia.

So what do you think?  Is the Uncharted series headed into pirate waters?  Will Nathan finally go shirtless?  Will Elena still be rocking that tank top?  I guess we’ll have to wait to learn more.  The wait until the next E3 just got a lot longer.

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
