Next Rocksteady Batman game to be a prequel
Superhero games – they’re so in right now. Especially now that, thanks to Rocksteady, we’re getting high quality, awesome superhero-based video game titles. And speaking of Rocksteady – fans of their Batman games can rejoice, as it appears that not only is a new game in development, but that game will be a prequel based around DC comics’ Silver Age series of the 1950s.
According to a report from Variety, Rocksteady’s next instalment in their batverse will be a prequel to their latest game, Batman: Arkham City, and will focus around Batman’s first meeting with the Joker. DC’s 1950’s Silver Age series – which dealt (amongst other things) with Batman’s attempts to form the Justice League of America – will serve as the inspiration for the game.
Variety didn’t mention an exact date for the release of the game, but mentioned a timeframe of 2014, which seems logical.
We’re intrigued by this new information, especially given Mark Hamill has stated he will not be returning to play the Joker in the next game. Still – we can’t wait for more details on this title and as always, will let you know as soon as we hear anything new.
