Shepard and Aria Reunite in the Omega Launch Trailer

As the song goes, “Reunited and it feels so good.”  Fans have known about the Omega DLC expansion for Mass Effect 3 almost as long as the game has been on shelves, and now the launch is nearly here.  With launches, come the obligatory launch trailers, and Omega is no different.  Check out the launch trailer for Omega after the jump.

Bioware claims that Omega is their most ambitious DLC expansion they’ve ever made.  Granted, they seem to say that every time.  But can you blame them for being proud of their work?  Omega, as I’m sure most of you are aware by now, sends Shepard back to the titular space station with its former queen, Aria, in a bid to free the station from Cerberus occupiers.  Omega features a new Cerberus enemy, a fearsome metal juggernaut known at the Rampart Mech.  You will also get to see a female Turian for the very first time as Nyreen, a member of the Talons resistance group, joins Shepard and Aria in the fight.  Check out the full trailer below.

In addition to the trailer, Bioware has set up twitter accounts for both the Cerberus occupiers of Omega, and the Talon militia fighting to drive them off the station.  Similar to the Alliance News Network that was so active just before the launch of Mass Effect 3, these competing twitter accounts will likely expand on the in-game storylines over the next few days, and should be fun to watch.  Omega launches tomorrow on PC, PS3 and XBox 360, and will set you back $15, or 1200 Microsoft points.

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
