You Can Design The Next Bioshock Infinite Trailer

OK, that headline might be a little bit of an exaggeration.  I have a bad habit of doing that, don’t I?  But Irrational Games does want your input for their next Bioshock Infinite trailer, which is scheduled to be released in a little over a week.  Read on for the details.

You might recall the last time we talked about Bioshock Infinite was all the way back in May, when it was announced that the game was going to miss its 2012 release date, and was being pushed back to February 2013.  In that same announcement, Irrational Games head honcho Ken Levine doubled down on the bad news, saying that his game would be skipping all the major gaming conventions and likely wouldn’t be seen again until it was ready for release.

Well, things must be progressing nicely because there’s a new trailer coming soon, and Irrational Games wants us to help design it.  In an update on their official website, they announced that they were starting a countdown for a brand new trailer on their Facebook page, and asked fans to go there to take part in a poll that will determine the focus of the trailer.  There are three questions in total, asking you to choose between Elizabeth and Songbird, Zepplins and Skylines, and Handymen and Motorized Patriots.  Now, I know what you’re going to ask, and the answer is yes.  You have to “like” the countdown page before being able to vote.  And while the craze of videogame developers running promotions on Facebook is getting a little out of hand, this is Ken Levine we’re talking about here.  Look at this man…

Would he ever ask you to go to Facebook if it wasn’t going to lead to something seriously cool?  No, of course not.  Anyway, if my math is correct (which it probably isn’t) the countdown will run out at 7:00am eastern, on October 21st.  Whether or not the trailer will magically appear at that moment remains to be seen, but we’ll definitely let you know.

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
