Square Enix have released a North American version of their TGS trailer for Final Fantasy XIII-2. Entitled ‘Despair’, the X-Box 360 trailer features a good mix of cutscenes and gameplay action. There’s also a Playstation 3 counterpart trailer, entitled ‘Promise’, which features different cutscene and gameplay action. Check them both out below.
Read more »Trion Worlds have announced their fifth major update for their MMORPG Rift, and the update appears to add a heck of a lot of new content. Rift players can look forward to post level 50 advancement, a new Warfront, a dungeon for master adventures and even the ability to tackle endgame instances with a friend. Read more »New details regarding the Mass Effect movie have surfaced today, with Lendary Pictures, the company producing the movie, answering a few questions on their official blog. According to the blog, although the Mass Effect movie will focus on a male Commander Shepard, it will feature a completely new story not covered in either the first or second Mass Effect games. Legendary further announced that Joker will not be played by Seth Green (if that character even makes an appearance)

Sorry Xbox and PC owners – looks like the special is only available for PS3 players.
Read more »I’m Batman….not until November you’re not, PC gamers, with the announcement today that the PC version of Batman: Arkham City has been delayed into November. No official word from Warner Bros. as to the reason for the delay, but given the fact that the PC version of the first game followed a month behind the console versions, this isn’t a complete surprise.
Read more »With the closure of Kaos Studios, the original developer of the Homefront title, it was assumed that no future titles in the series would be released. However, it appears THQ had other ideas, and now they have announced that they will be partnering with Crytek (those very gifted devs responsible for the Crysis series of games) to develop a sequel to the original Homefront.
Read more »It’s been an interesting week of information on the PS Vita – with both positive news (the strong line up of release games; the handheld’s region free status) as well as less positive news (the reveal of the horrid battery life of the device). Now, it has been revealed that in order to keep the Vita at a competitive price point of $249, Sony had to sacrifice certain features of the Vita, including internal memory. Read more »The ESRB have released their rating for Bethesda’s upcoming Elder Scrolls release Skyrim and, shock horror, the game features violence. I know. I’m as surprised as you are. Other themes the game touches on include blood and gore, sexual themes ,and use of alcohol. Which is again exceptionally shocking. Who would have thought a country that’s known for it’s brutish, burly strong warriors would have a focus on drinking ale and mead and other alcoholic beverages?! Read more »Good news for those of you wishing to get your superhero groove on, but not wanting to pay for it (you big cheapskates). The DC Universe Online MMO will be going free to play for PC and PS3 players in October. Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) is introducing three new access levels to the game, one of which will allow you to pay the game for free (albeit with restrictions). Read more »I’m not even going to pretend that I didn’t squeal like a ten year old girl who just got a pony when I saw this. Chrono Trigger was one of my favorite SNES games as a kid and now I’ll get to play it on my phone. The “Square Enix Market” in the works is planning on porting other fun titles like Final Fantasy Legends, Itadaki Street, and Dragon Quest Monsters too. There’s even a little teaser page where you can see all your friends and get giddy as freakin’ punch over it.
