So the Battlefield: Hardline open beta has come and gone and I managed to play more than a couple of rounds to truly get a grasp about just how the game plays and and feels. I have killed cops and criminals, stolen cars and blown them up, and I have protected and robbed a bank too many times to count… and it was all a hell of a lot of fun!

The butt of many jokes for all those years, the little guys that followed Princess Peach around everywhere before crying in disbelief (again and again) as she was whisked away by Bowser, helpless and unsure of what to do next. Let’s be honest, they were never considered true heroes in the same vein as Mario or Yoshi, aside from a few cameos in Mario Bros. 2 or Mario Kart.
Read more »Turn-based strategy games can be a mixed bag. If you don’t have a compelling narrative or something to pull the audience in, boredom can set rather quickly as you take your turn, wait a few minutes, take another turn, wait again…

Read more »The Call of Duty franchise has seen some huge highs and some equally low lows throughout its lifetime. With Advanced Warfare, it is clear that Sledgehammer Games and Activision have done their best to re-invigorate the series, combining the strengths the games are know for with new additions to keep the franchise fresh. The result is a polished, well-designed game that has a few rough edges, but not enough to lessen the appeal of the game.
Read more »One of the token, almost assumed facets of stealth gaming is that the atmosphere has to brood, invoking tones of darkness, and a mood that takes itself not an inch short of serious; the presumption being that somewhere in there, they’d find their groove. In its most fundamental core mechanics, The Marvellous Miss Take is undoubtedly a stealth game, though the developer Wonderstruck Games have gone back to the foundations of play that informed the genre, a childhood game of cat and mouse.
