Transistor – Review

8.5 out of 10 Great Recommended

“Oh! An indie game with a silent protagonist, how philosophical,” you mutter to yourself sarcastically as you pick up the controller to play Supergiant Game’s new action RPG, Transistor. Yet in the context of this game, the silence actually has something profound to say. In Transistor you play as the enigmatic Red, a prolific singer and resident to the city of Cloudbank who loses her voice following an assassination attempt at one of her shows. Cloudbank, the city much of the game inhabits, is eerily beautiful. Its contrasting pastel colors and noir style reflect a future that is not far […]

Save Game Sunday Kickday – Together: Amna & Saif

These days, it seems like every game has a multiplayer component.  But modern multiplayer is played almost exclusively online.  Even co-op gaming has become largely dependent on the internet.  Even as broadband allows us to play with friends all over the world, something very important has been lost.  That intangible connection between two people, sitting on a couch, playing on a single screen is quickly fading away.  Our choice for this week’s Kickday, Together: Amna & Saif, hopes to bring that experience back.

TPAT Highlights – Fallout: New Vegas

“It’s just so…brown.” For this TPAT Tash and Christine visit the monochromatic land of Fallout, New Vegas style. This Vegas is far from the flashing lights and glitz of the one we all know. There are no Cher performances, but there is a roller coaster. Sadly, Tash did not get to ride it, which is really only one of her complaints about this one, which unfortunately ended up on the not so “treasure” side of “T.” Video after the jump.

inFAMOUS: Second Son – Review

9 out of 10 Excellent

Greatness awaits – that was the tag line used with the launch of the PS4. Unfortunately, with the scarce release of PS4 exclusives, gamers have had nothing to feel all that great about. Until now. The release of inFAMOUS: Second Sun from Sucker Punch finally brings that feeling of greatness to the player, putting you in control of some awesome powers and giving you free rein to use them as you see fit as you traverse the wonderfully recreated Seattle. Our ‘hero’ of the game is Delsin Rowe, a delinquent whose biggest claim to fame prior to gaining powers is […]

Review: Bioshock Infinite Burial at Sea – Episode 2

7 out of 10 Good

When Bioshock Infinite launched a little over a year ago, it was met with near universal acclaim.  It was hailed as an instant classic, and one of the best games of this past generation.  So expectations for Burial at Sea, its mysterious expansion DLC, were high.  While the first episode was entertaining enough, it was far from what fans were expecting.  So will Episode Two be equally underwhelming, or will it capture some of the magic that made Bioshock Infinite so memorable?  Read on to find out.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Review

8.5 out of 10 Great

Sometimes a game doesn’t bring anything exceptionally new to the table, but is still an enjoyable experience. This is definitely true of Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow 2. It combines a Metroidvania structure with God Of War-esque combat and ties it all together with an absolutely gorgeous game world, and an interesting character journey. It may not push any boundaries, but it’s definitely a game worth playing.
