343 Industries Launches the Halo 4 Castle Map Pack
The DLC just keeps coming. Seems like it was only yesterday that Halo 4’s last map pack made its debut on Xbox Marketplace. Now, a brand new set of play spaces is ready to go. Read on for the details, and to see them for yourself.
Made available earlier today, the Castle Map Pack is the third such collection to be released since Halo 4 launched late last year. Castle contains three maps desgined for large scale vehicular combat spread across wide open spaces. To help you get familiar with the maps before you actually play them, 343 has made strategy videos for each of the three. Check them out below.
First up is Daybreak, set in a miltary complex surrounded by breathtaking mountains.

Next up is Outcast, which trades the majestic peaks of Daybreak for the deserted caverns of a rebel base.

Finally, there is Perdition, which puts players right in the middle of a city in crisis. You might want to steer clear of the giant nuclear core melting down in the center of the map. That’s a protip.

Another protip: DON’T BUY THIS MAP PACK FROM THE XBOX LIVE MARKETPLACE IF YOU ALREADY OWN THE WAR GAMES MAP PASS. Seriously. Microsoft will charge you twice. Because they’re jerks like that. If you have the map pass, download Castle from the in-game marketplace, which can be accessed from the Halo 4 main menu.
