Dead Space: Liberation graphic novel announced

I mentioned previously that graphic novels for video games are becoming the new ‘everyone must do it’ craze rivalling the zombie content fixation everyone seems to have. It looks as though the graphic novel tie-in has struck again – with EA announcing Dead Space: Liberation, an original graphic novel from EA’s Visceral Games and Titan Books.

Penned by Ian Edginton and illustrated by Christopher Shy, the graphic novel provides the background to co-op character John Carver who is set to make his Dead Space debut fighting alongside Isaac Clarke in Dead Space 3.

In addition to the graphic novel, Dead Space art appreciators can also look forward to the Art of Dead Space – a brand spanking new artbook which features over 300 images and concept sketches as well as commentary from artists. As a sucker for concept art books I must admit I’m looking forward to the artbook more than the graphic novel, but I do have fond memories of the original Dead Space comic tie-ins, so the graphic novel definitely has potential.

Dead Space 3 releases February 7th, 2013. For more information on the game, head to its official website.
