If you’re an Xbox 360 owner who loves playing video games (which I’m assuming you do because otherwise you bought yourself a very expensive paperweight) do yourself a favor and check out the Gaming and Giving for Good Charity Event. On the weekend of October 1st, Miscrosoft is providing a free weekend of Xbox Live Gold to host the Gaming and Giving for Good Xbox Live charity event. The proceeds of the event will go to the Children’s Miracle Network, who raise funds for more than 170 children’s hospitals across the US and Canada. Microsoft will be providing players who register with Free Gold memberships for the weekend, with participants obtaining donations based on every hour of gameplay they complete.

The event is also sponsored by Gamespot, Hulu and 2K games, with Capcom, Square Enix and EA also supporting the cause.

So do yourself a favor and head on over to the Gaming and Giving for Good Charity Event official website to register your involvement in this very worthwhile event.
