Latest Bungie video offers new Destiny details

destiny-banner-2Bungie might be off in Cologne, Germany, showing off Destiny to the world’s largest gaming convention.  But that doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten about the rest of us.  They’ve released a brand new video featuring a behind the scenes look at their upcoming game.  Read on to see it for yourself.

Entitled “Out Here in the Wild,” the video is the latest in Bungie’s long running video documentary series.  While this new vidoc does contain a lot of recycled imagery from Bungie’s E3 presentation, it also features a healthy amount of new footage and information.  Most interesting to me is the announcement of a third weapon slot, meant to cause “unrealistically large amounts of damage over a very small window of time.”  Sounds fun!

The video also shows off some new super powers, or “supers,” during which your Guardian can harness some of the Traveler’s power and unleash powerful special attacks.  In addition to the Nova Bomb shown off at E3, this video demonstrates the Golden Gun, Fist of Havoc and Radiance supers.  You’ll also get fresh looks at the game’s loot drops as well as an overview of Destiny’s seamless multiplayer systems.

If you didn’t get a chance to see much of Destiny in the crush of E3, this vidoc is your best chance to get caught up.  For Bunige diehards, it’s worth watching for the new footage.  Check it out below.

Destiny will be released at some point next year for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4.

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
