Playstation Vita packaging revealed – it’s all about the Blues

Sony has unveiled the PSVita’s packaging, and whilst I’m usually not a package ogler, I’ll admit I do like the crisp blue shown here. The EU Playstation Blog has full details on just what each of the PS Vita’s Home icons represent, and they include the previously discussed Welcome Park, Music player and Photo capturer, as well as the already well-known to Playstation users trophy and PSN store icons.

Also included is the internet browser, friends list, group messaging and party system, as well as an interesting little location based game called Near which lets you stay connected with your existing friends and make new ones by sharing information about yourself, based on your location. The network allows you to issue challenges to individuals or play co-operatively with them, and seems to be an interesting way of meeting and making new friends using the portable.

More information on each of the icons can be found at the EU Playstation Blog.

What are your thoughts on the packaging? Crisp and clean? Or is it a little too blue for you? Do the new icons sound intriguing, or will you simply be using the core features and leaving the rest? Let us know in the comments section below.
