PS Vita confirmed to be region free

It’s the announcement everyone has been waiting for (well, at least everyone thinking of purchasing a PS Vita anyway). Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Computer Entertainment president of Worldwide Studies confirmed on his Twitter that the PS Vita will indeed be region free. Good news for those of us considering a Vita purchase, and a good move by Sony, at least in my opinion.

The PS Vita will be released on December 17 in Japan and with no region locks that means gamers around the world can order the Japanese version without having to wait for whatever the official release date is for other countries. Which is further good news for myself, since I live in Australia, otherwise known as the arse-end of the world when it comes to gaming releases.
