SWOTOR Will Have Gay! …Eventually!
Bioware has officially confirmed that there will be same sex romance in Star Wars: The Old Republic, just not yet. Community Manager Stephen Reid said that the implementation of same sex relationships will be a post launch feature due to “design constraints.” I suppose when making such a monumental MMO its difficult to get everything you want in there from the get go. This makes me wonder though. If you’re playing a male smuggler in SWOTOR who loves the ladies because he has no other option, and then the patch offering same sex relationships gets released, do you then role play that your smuggler has just been in the closet the whole time? This is one of those questions I will think about. Every day. All day.
Actually mostly I’m just thinking about peanut butter. Peanut butter and the awesomeness of Bioware for recognizing and acknowledging that their fandom does indeed consist of gay people and not just dudes who like to play female characters so they can watch them get it on with other ladies (not that there’s anything wrong with that, fellas).
