Forget about guns. In Watch Dogs, the city itself is your most powerful weapon. Ubisoft Montreal is back with a new trailer that gives an extended look at how hacking will play a key role in the game. Read on for the details.
The new trailer went up earlier today on the official Watch Dogs YouTube channel, and appears to be the first in a series of gameplay demonstrations which will lead up to the game’s release later this year. The first video gives an in-depth look at hacking, and how you’ll rely on it as a key component of gameplay.
In Watch Dogs, the city of Chicago has been wired to a computer program called CTOS. Designed to improve efficiency and cut costs, CTOS manages traffic control, emergency services, crime monitoring, utilities, and more. As Aiden Pearce, you’ll gain access to this system through the uploading of viruses. Each server you infect will increase your reach. Eventually, the whole city will be yours to control. From eavesdropping on phone calls, to causing huge explosions to evade police, CTOS will be your most powerful weapon in the game. Check out the trailer below.
Watch Dogs will be released on PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U on November 19th in North America, and worldwide November 22nd. A release for both PS4 and Xbox One is also planned for this year.
