Better late than never, right?  After amassing millions of players on PC and PS4, the free-to-play third person shooter Warframe is finally making its way to Xbox One today.  Read on for all the details, and to check out the brand new launch trailer.

In case this is your first time hearing about Warframe, allow me to quickly bring you up to speed.  Developed by Digital Extremes, Warframe is a free to play third person shooter that originally launched for the PC back in March of 2013, and subsequently became a launch title for the PS4.  In Warframe, you play as a member of the Tenno, a clan of ancient warriors who, after spending centuries in cryo-sleep, awaken to find themselves at war with numerous alien threats.  Like you do.  I mean, has there ever been a case of someone awaking from cryo-sleep to find everything peaceful and serene?  Anyway, as a member of the Tenno, you and up to three other players take part in various missions, from straight up combat, to package retrieval, zone defense and survival.  There are 14 mission types in total, set amongst the planets of the solar systems.  Weapons, armor, and equipment are all highly customizable and upgradable, and while the game is free to play, microtransactions are an option for those who don’t want to grind for resources.  Sound mildly interesting?  Check out the launch trailer below.

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
