Watch Dogs gets a new trailer and release date

watchdogs-bannerWatch Dogs was one of the undisputed stars of E3 2012.  The game’s debut trailer sparked intense speculation over what the game was about, when it would be released, and on what systems it would be available on.  Fans learned more about the game at the Playstation 4 reveal earlier this year, but the release date was still a mystery.  Until today.   Read on for the details.

Earlier today, Ubisoft updated the official Watch Dogs website with a brand new trailer, and more importantly, a release date.  Watch Dogs will be released in North America on November 19, and November 22 worldwide.  It will be released on every major console, including PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC.  Watch Dogs will also be available on other “next-gen consoles,” which is obviously marketing speak for the next Xbox.  To get fans in the mood to pre-order, Ubisoft released a brand new trailer for Watch Dogs, entitled “Out of Control.”  Check it out below.

Sooooo… the game looks amazing and all, but what was up with Aiden Pearce’s voice?  It sounded like someone doing a bad impression of Christian Bale’s Batman growl.  Can you imagine Aiden and Alan Wake having a conversation?

Aiden: “Alan.”

Alan: “Aiden.”

Aiden: “I like your trench coat.”

Alan: “Thanks, I like yours too.”

Aiden: “Can you say “Previously on Alan Wake’ for me?”

Alan: “Can you get lost?”

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
