The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – World Setting video

witcher3ws1I love the Witcher games. Mostly because I love Geralt, but I also love the world, the characters and pretty much everything else that CD Projekt Red have included in the titles. So whenever a new trailer for the upcoming Witcher 3: Wild Hunt releases, I’m positively giddy with happiness. The latest trailer to be released is called ‘World Setting’, and to summarise my reaction after watching it: holy crap I need this game NOW.

I’ll let the trailer mostly speak for itself, but for those not in the know, the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt follows the story of Geralt of Rivia, a Witcher who is as adept at fighting supernatural monsters as he is as seducing the ladies. There’s more to Geralt than that of course, and indeed the games themselves are full of intricate lore and characters who are some of the most nuanced seen in gaming. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt promises to deliver a mature, non-linear story which focuses heavily on player decisions and features unexpected events with believable characters and stunning world locations. The first two games in the series were nothing short of spectacular, delivering an amazing gaming experience. If Witcher 3: Wild Hunt delivers on all the promises the developers CD Projekt Red have touted in the lead up to release, this will be a game that players will be discussing for years to come.

Whilst Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may be several months away, the continual trailer releases make the wait that little bit more bearable. The World Setting trailer introduces players to the types of monsters and environments they can expect to encounter when the game ships early next year, and features quick soundbites from the developers with epic accents and even more epic names.

Witcher 3: Wild Hunt releases on February 24, 2015 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. For more information on the game, check out the official website.
