Playstation 3 owners of the Silent Hill HD collection can thank their lucky stars their version of the game was patched, given the news that the planned patch for the Xbox360 version has been scrapped.

Konami did not have much to say on the cancellation of the title update, except to state that the patch was scrapped “due to technical issues and resources.”

Sad news for Xbox360 gamers, who will now have to suffer through their unpatched games. Thankfully for PS3 gamers – their recently released patch is set to resolve frame rate and audio synch issues which beset the game, in addition to fixing a variety of other bugs.

Konami have offered their apologies to those gamers who are experiencing issues with their copies of the game.
