CD Projekt RED opens new studio, developing new games
CD Projekt’s RED’s steady march towards world domination continues. The Witcher developer is expanding into a new studio, and is developing two brand new original titles. Read on for all the details.
Initially reported by Gamasutra, and picked up by CVG, CD Projekt RED is expanding its operations. The Warsaw-based developer is opening a new studio in Krakow, where it plans to develop one of two currently unannounced titles. Described as “premium quality titles” by the developer, they are promising approximately 20 hours of gameplay, aaaaaand that’s basically all we know. My guess is The Witcher Xtreme Kart Racing and some kind of tower defense game, but with garden gnomes.
CD Projekt RED is already hard at work on two high profile titles, first and foremost being The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which was recently shown off at E3. Their other project, a game based on the pen and paper RPG Cyberpunk 2077, hasn’t been seen since an announcement trailer was shown earlier this year. If you haven’t seen the trailer, do it now. It’s pretty much the coolest CGI trailer ever, and you’ll be humming the song for weeks.
