Feast your eyes on 5 minutes of GTA5 gameplay footage

gta5title1There have been numerous Grand Theft Auto 5 trailers.  While they all used in-game assets, none of them actually showed what the game looked like while it was being played.  Until now, that is.  Rockstar has released 5 minutes of narrated gameplay, and it’s a virtual all-you-can-eat buffet of footage.  Read on to dig in.

The video shows off many of the game’s formerly unseen features.  Most importantly, it gives a detailed look at how you’ll switch between the game’s three playable characters, and all the crazy gameplay choices the system opens up.  You’ll also catch glimpses of combat, vehicle customization, and the new recreational activities you can take part in while not shooting up the city; like tennis and golf.  Yes, golf.  Let it be known that I called the golf mini-game all the way back in 2011.  And then there’s hunting, of the bounty and animal variety.  And diving, of the sky and underwater variety.  But beyond the gameplay details, you’ll get a real sense of how huge Los Santos is.  From sunlit beaches to soaring mountain peaks, and urban sprawl to desolate wilderness, the world of Grand Theft Auto 5 looks positively massive.  Take a look for yourself.

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
