Microsoft unveils new Halo Nightfall trailer

Halo Nightfall bannerAfter a few years’ absence from the Xbox, Halo is about to return to Microsoft’s game console in a big way.  Next month will not only see the release of the Master Chief Collection, but will also be when Halo Nightfall premieres.  A new trailer for the dramatic series premiered earlier today.  Read on to check it out for yourself.

Originally announced during this year’s SDCC, Halo Nightfall is a new five part dramatic series executive produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Sergio Mimica Gezzan.  The series will span the time between Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians, and stars Mike Colter as Jameson Locke, a legendary manhunter and ONI operative, who is set to play a major role in the next Halo game.  In Halo Nightfall, Agent Locke and his team are caught in a terrorist attack on the distant colony world of Sedra.  For reasons that are still unclear, Locke is forced to work with a local Sedran military commander with a deep mistrust of ONI.  Together, they are drawn to a colorfully named “hellish artifact” where they must unravel an ancient mystery and fight for their lives.

While Microsoft’s description of Nightfall is a bit vague, their newest trailer still should be enough to get any Halo fan excited.  Check it out below.

Halo Nightfall will have its world premiere on November 10th at Halofest 2014. It will then be included with the Master Chief Collection, which releases the following day for Xbox One.

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
