Saints Row Celebrates (mocks) GTAV with GATV DLC
Those jokesters over at Volition are at it again. To take advantage of today’s release of Grand Theft Auto 5, and perhaps to mock the game’s absence from the PC platform, they’ve issued the GATV pack for free on Steam. Read on for the details.
The news first showed up earlier today on the game’s official Twitter page, making prolific use of the #GATV hashtag. The GATV Pack is an add-on to Saints Row 4 which will allow you to appear as Johnny Gat in the game. In addition to Gat’s stunningly handsome visage, the GATV pack also comes with an Aisha outfit, thus allowing you and a friend to stage a co-op reunion between the two tragic lovers which was until now only possible in fan fiction. Rounding out the DLC is a heavy machine gun, and a gun that shoots knives. In any other game, a knife gun would seem crazy, but it’s probably not even in the top 5 of crazy guns in SR4.
The pack is available for free on Steam right now, as a treat to those PC players who felt snubbed by Rockstar deciding not to release GTA5 on their platform (for now). Starting tomorrow, it’ll sell for $2.99. It’s also available for purchase on PSN and Xbox Live in North America, and will become available worldwide tomorrow.
