Can you hear that whistle in the distance?  It sounds like the Ubisoft hype train, and it’s getting closer.  Far Cry 4 is angling to be one of the big multi-platform releases of the holiday season, and Sony wants to show you why in a new video that takes you inside the Ubisoft development studio for some developer commentary.  Read on to check it out.

Despite the fact that the video is a thinly veiled commercial for the game, it does serve as an excellent way to get caught up on Far Cry 4, in case you missed out on the game’s showings at E3 and Gamescom.  The video covers everything from the Himalayan setting, to Shangri-La, to the unique multiplayer system.  Exactly how Shangri-La fits into the story of Far Cry is still a bit of a mystery.  But there’s apparently mystical tapestries and time travel involved.  Makes perfect sense.  The video goes into some detail about how the multiplayer co-op system in Far Cry 4 will work on Playstation, with friends being able to enter and exit your single player experience seamlessly, even if they don’t own the game.  Check out the video below.

Far Cry will be released this November 18th in North America and Europe for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360. An Australian release will follow on November 20th.

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
