You can help design the Saints Row 4 Collector’s Edition

Just days after melting all of our faces off with their reveal trailer for Saintss Row 4, Volition is back and they want to talk to you.  Specifically, they want to know what you’d like in a Saints Row 4 Collector’s Edition.  Read on for the details.

The survey was announced by way of the official Saints Row twitter page, as you can see below.

The link takes you to a survey page listing nearly 20 (19 to be exact) different items (yes, I counted) that the Saints Row 4 developers are considering including in the Collector’s Edition of the game.  Among the usual extras (t-shirts, action figures, art books) are some more outlandish options, like a cigar box, an auto-tune device, and a dubstep doomsday button.  You can even vote for a “functional (not deadly!) in-game weapon replica.”  I think we all know what they’re referring to, yes?  Yes.  The survey asks you to rank every option from “HELL NO!” to “AWWWW YEAH!” with varying stages of excitement in between.

The survey also asks which system you’ll be buying the game for, and how many collector’s editions you’ve bought in the last year.  Most interesting of all is the question asking how much co-op you played in Saint’s Row 3.  This makes me wonder if Volition is planning an expansion of the co-op system.  While playing through the SR3 campaign with a friend can be some of the most fun you’ll ever have in a game, restricting co-op to only two players seems a bit dated.  Especially considering the huge cast of characters in the Saint’s Row universe.  Perhaps Volition will finally deliver a 4 player campaign option in the next game.  We’ll just have to wait and see.

One last note on the survey… I see there is an option for a remote controlled Eagle helicopter.  The Eagle is cool and all, but everybody knows that the S.T.A.G. F-69 VTOL is the baddest aircraft in the game.

F69

I mean, look at that sexy thing!  Dual flight modes, cluster missles, and a friggin laser cannon.  While a remote controlled version of the F-69 might not be possible, I’d at least like to see a scale model as an option for the Collector’s Edition.  You hear me, Volition?  Get on that, will you?

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
