Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.

Best known for their iconic Halo series, the Seattle based developer has been quietly working on their next big thing for quite some time now. Aliens: Colonial Marines Gets a new trailer (and a new delay).

In news that shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone who has been following the development of Aliens: Colonial Marines, the title from Sega and Gearbox Studios has been pushed back from a spring 2012 release to a fall 2012 release. But it’s not all bad news on the xenomorph front. Sega has released a new cinematic trailer for the (hopefully) upcoming game, and it is pretty darned sweet. Mass Effect 3 Special Forces Trailer

Bioware has unveiled a brand new Mass Effect 3 trailer (ahhhh new trailer smell) entitled “Special Forces.” The trailer showcases the game’s multiplayer mode, and it is two minutes and twenty one seconds of adrenaline fueled action. Actually… only the first 1:36 of the trailer is new hotness. The rest is a string of ads for pre-order bonuses and other Mass Effect related videos. Classy. So what new info does the trailer reveal? Jak and Daxter Trilogy Details and Release Date

Ratchet who?  Clank what?  As far as I’m concerned, the Jak and Daxter trilogy was the number one platforming series on the Playstation 2.  And now all three games, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak 2, and Jak 3, are getting re-released on PS3 in a single Blu-Ray package.  But these aren’t simple ports.  These games have been given the deluxe treatment, and there are some wonderful new surprises in store for fans of the series.  Read on for more details.

New Gears of War 3 DLC available now

Today is the day Gearheads everywhere have been waiting for. The third major piece of DLC for Gears of War 3, aptly titled the Fenix Rising Map Pack, has been released on XBOX Live. In total, five new multiplayer maps are included in the package, but this is more than just a map pack. A fresh batch of achievements, four new character skins, and a prestige-like ability to show off your skills all come included in the DLC. Read on for the details.
