Gears of War 3 DLC releasing November 1; priced at 800MSP

Gears of War 3 will be receiving its first expansion, entitled the ‘Horde Command Pack addon’, on November 1. The Pack will include 3 new maps, 3 new playable characters and 2 new weapon skins, and there will be 250 gamerscore of achievements up for grabs. Also included are four new fortification and armor upgrades. The pack will sell for 800MSP, but those gamers who bought the season pass will automatically download the addon for free.

Free DLC coming for Portal 2

Good news for Portal fans (and that’s about what? 3/4 of gamers now?) with the announcement that Portal 2 is to receive free DLC. Yep, that’s right. FREE. Now, pop back your hats that have just blown off, and mark October 4 on your calendars as that’s when the content is releasing. Entitled “Peer Review”, the DLC will include more missions for P-Body and Atlas, with GLaDOS even getting some screentime.

Battlefield 3 Exec Producer claims Free DLC upsets gamers

Here’s a very interesting admission from one of DICE’s senior big wigs. Speaking in an interview with OXM UK, Battlefield 3 Executive Producer Patrick Bach claims that free DLC is not well received by the more hardcore user and that DICE have had much more positive responses to priced DLC than anything they have released for free.

Dragon Age 2: Mark of the Assassin DLC announced

Dragon Age 2 is set to receive new DLC, according to a new trailer from Game Trailers, released today. The new DLC, entitled ‘Mark of the Assassin‘ looks set to feature the elven assassin Tallis, voiced by Felicia Day. Fans of the Dragon Age series will know Day had previously announced she was starring in a six part web series set in the Dragon Age universe – and this DLC appears set to introduce the character she will be playing in the webseries into the actual Dragon Age game universe.

Portal DLC set for September

The first DLC for Portal 2 will be releasing mid-September and will be offered for free on all three platforms. Players can expect to be treated to a new challenge mode, playable in either single player or two player co-op, as well as new test chambers and leaderboards.
