iOS and Android devices to get Max Payne Mobile in April

Rockstar have announced today that Max Payne Mobile will be releasing on iOS devices on April 12th, and Android devices on April 26th. The game will feature HD graphics and high-resolution textures, and has been optimised for both iOS and Android devices. Rockstar have further stated that the game controls will be user-customizable and Social Club connectivity will be built into the experience.

Extended endings coming to Mass Effect 3

That huge wind gust you felt earlier today was the collective sigh of relief Mass Effect fans let out upon learning that the ending to Mass Effect 3 would recieve further explanation.  The debate over the game’s final minutes have raged across the internet ever since its release in early March, and it appears that the virtual (and in my case, literal)  hand wringing has paid off.  Bioware will be releasing DLC that will provide the clarifications and closure sought by many fans.  Read on to find out what this DLC will contain, and more importantly, what it won’t.

Assassin’s Creed III preorder numbers surpass preorders for previous games

Looks like someone is onto a winning formula at Ubisoft, with the company announcing that preorders for their upcoming Assassin’s Creed 3 are set to surpass preorders for any other game released by the company. And that’s a pretty big deal for Ubisoft, and for the Assassin’s Creed series as a whole.

SEGA set to record operating loss in excess of 7.1 billion Yen

SEGA is set to record an operating loss in excess of 7.1 billion yen ($86.5 million USD) in the year finishing March 2012. This loss will hit the company hard, and as a result not only will SEGA be pruning their workforce, they are also going to be cancelling work on certain games currently under development with the company. According to the company, the loss is a result of the “severe economic environment in the US and Europe and rapid change in market environment of home video game software.”

Bungie Watch! End of an Era Edition

A few months ago, we reported that Bungie Studios, the developer behind the Halo series, would be making a major change to their online community in the near future.  As part of a larger shift away from Halo, and towards their next big thing, Bungie would be ending data collection for all of their Halo games.  Sadly, that change took effect yesterday.  Read on for the details, and some staggering final statistics from nearly a decade of Halo data collection.

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millenium an MMO no mo

Humorous article title aside, this isn’t a very funny story.  Financial troubles at parent publisher THQ have caused them to scale back production on Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millenium, an MMO being developed by Vigil Games and Relic Entertainment.  While the game hasn’t been cancelled, it is no longer the massively multiplayer gargantuan it was once shaping up to be.  Read on for the details.
