Mass Effect 3 Goes Gold

me3-gold1

As I’m sure you’ve noticed by now, we here at Save Game have been following the development of Mass Effect 3 very closely.  As one of the biggest titles of 2012, every piece of information concerning the game’s progress felt like news. But those days are drawing to a close.  Mass Effect 3 has gone gold.  Read on for the details, and what to expect in the weeks leading up to release.

Executive Producer Casey Hudson made the announcement last night on his twitter page.  That’s right, Mass Effect 3 is gold. Now, whether it has been plated in gold, or perhaps dipped in molten gold, remains to be seen.  All we know for sure right now is that the game has been encased in the precious metal.

Wait… that’s not what it means?  Hang on…..

OK. Turns out “gold” means that the game’s development has been completed.  Sorry about the confusion earlier.  But this doesn’t mean that the news will stop. The EA marketing engine is just now beginning to rev up to full power.  The single biggest piece of marketing, the Mass Effect 3 demo, launches tomorrow. A new trailer has been hinted at by Bioware employees.  And that’s just this week.  We can expect an extensive advertising blitz as the game’s March 6th release date draws closer.  Rest assured, we’ll have it all covered.

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
