Pre-order details announced for Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark

transformerspreorderdeetsAutobots! Decepticons! Transformers fans take note: the pre-order details for Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark have been announced, and if you like robots and guns you’re going to be very, very pleased.

Players who pre-order through EB Games will receive the following addition:

  • Weathered Warrior Pack DLC – this pack includes two characters: Thundercracker and Skywarp, both fearsome masters of combat in service of the Decepticons. The collection also includes two new weapons: the distortion-field generating Glass Gas Cannon and the long-range, kinetic projectile-spitting Electro Bolter. The weapons will be available for players’ use in the story-based campaign and Escalation modes once they are unlocked. The DLC is available for PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 systems only.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark releases June 25 on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. The game is rated M and those interested in knowing more can visit the game’s official site.

The game itself will be a third-person shooter, similar to its predecessors (the handheld version however, will play like a strategy RPG). Players can choose to play the single player campaign as either the Autobots (where they will help protect the Earth) or the Decepticons (where they will help destroy the earth). A multiplayer campaign will also be included, which will see up to four players attempting to stop waves upon waves of increasingly tougher enemies, where players can choose from a roster of over forty playable characters. Experience points earned through either mode will be shared.

Below is the official reveal trailer for the game, featuring robot dinosaurs. Because they are so in right now.
