Skyrim ships over 10 million copies; earns $650 million

It seems Skyrim has been quite sucessful for Bethesda. I know, I’m shocked too. Today Bethesda released some official numbers detailing just how successful their magical RPG Skyrim is, and apparently it’s $650 million retail dollars worth of successful. That equates to around 10 million copies of the game being shipped.

Alan Wake comes to PC

Aion to become free to play for European players starting February 2012

There seems to be something in the water amongst MMO’s going free to play, with NCSoft announcing that Aion will be transitioning to a free-to-play model for European gamers in February of next year. Come February 2012, European players will be able to download the game and play for free without any subscription costs.

New Duke Nukem Forever DLC out now

Remember when that game that no-one thought was ever going to be released was released and then after all that time in development limbo it really wasn’t all that great? I’m of course talking about Duke Nukem Forever, and despite its rather lukewarm reception from gamers and reviewers alike, it seems the game sold enough copies to warrant more time spent on it in the form of DLC. That DLC, called ‘The Doctor who Cloned me’ is now available to download for the lovely price of $US10.
