Cursed Loot: A Review

Last Winter, Eye Hook Games released a simple dungeon crawler on Xbox Live Arcade aptly titled Epic Dungeon, a delightful little platformer RPG with the most basic gameplay.  A few months ago Epic Dungeon got an overhaul and the name was changed to Cursed Loot.  It’s basically the same game, though we think its subtle changes like extra classes and more in depth talent tree have made for an even more delightful experience.

Bioware caught off guard by Dragon Age 2 player reaction

Bioware have stated in an interview with Xbox World Magazine that the very polarizing reactions after the release of Dragon Age 2 caught the company “off-guard”. Dragon Age 2 was criticised by fans of the previous game for being being ‘dumbed down’, with the RPG mechanics severely reduced.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection now comes in Limited Edition

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is the latest game to get the Limited Edition treatment – because its title wasn’t already long enough. Konami has announced that their newest re-imagining of an older game series will come in a Limited Edition version. Those gamers who decide to shell out the extra moolah for the edition will receive special packaging by the series’ lead artist, Yoji Shinkawa and a 248 page art book called The Art of Metal Gear Solid. And that’s it.

Game of Thrones RPG coming 2012

Holy lover of imps and direwolves – an RPG based around George R. R Martin’s popular A Game of Thones series is heading to a gaming platform near you in 2012. Cyanide – the developers of the just released Game of Thrones: Genesis RTS based on the Game of Thrones universe have re-confirmed they are also working on an RPG style game. Speaking to Kotaku, studio director Yves  Bordeleau revealed some juicy details regarding the upcoming story-heavy RPG.

Free DLC coming for Portal 2

Good news for Portal fans (and that’s about what? 3/4 of gamers now?) with the announcement that Portal 2 is to receive free DLC. Yep, that’s right. FREE. Now, pop back your hats that have just blown off, and mark October 4 on your calendars as that’s when the content is releasing. Entitled “Peer Review”, the DLC will include more missions for P-Body and Atlas, with GLaDOS even getting some screentime.

Mortal Kombat to receive new movie

What does the video gaming world need? Why, another movie based on a video game, of course! And just because it’s had its fair share of movies and television shows in the past doesn’t mean it can’t have a new movie now, as Mortal Kombat has proven today. New Line Studios, who produced the 1990s Mortal Kombat films, have announced they will be making a new movie with Kevin Tancharoen at the helm. Tancharoen was responsible for the Mortal Kombat: Rebirth trailer, as well as the recently released Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series.

Guild Wars Winds of Change announced

Guild wars have announced the next in their Beyond series, entitled “Winds of Change”. The Beyond series sets the stage for events occurring in Guild Wars 2, focusing on legendary characters and crucial events. Winds of Change is set in Cantha and features 11 new quests, 5 respawned zones, new costumes and new battles. It is set to be the largest free content expansion the series has seen to date.
