PC Version of Batman: Arkham City delayed into November

I’m Batman….not until November you’re not, PC gamers, with the announcement today that the PC version of Batman: Arkham City has been delayed into November. No official word from Warner Bros. as to the reason for the delay, but given the fact that the PC version of the first game followed a month behind the console versions, this isn’t a complete surprise.

New Homefront title to be developed by Crytek

With the closure of Kaos Studios, the original developer of the Homefront title, it was assumed that no future titles in the series would be released. However, it appears THQ had other ideas, and now they have announced that they will be partnering with Crytek (those very gifted devs responsible for the Crysis series of games) to develop a sequel to the original Homefront.

PS Vita memory cards will cost a lot

It’s been an interesting week of information on the PS Vita – with both positive news (the strong line up of release games; the handheld’s region free status) as well as less positive news (the reveal of the horrid battery life of the device). Now, it has been revealed that in order to keep the Vita at a competitive price point of $249, Sony had to sacrifice certain features of the Vita, including internal memory. ESRB gives Skyrim M Rating due to booze, sex and violent content

The ESRB have released their rating for Bethesda’s upcoming Elder Scrolls release Skyrim and, shock horror, the game features violence. I know. I’m as surprised as you are. Other themes the game touches on include blood and gore, sexual themes ,and use of alcohol. Which is again exceptionally shocking. Who would have thought a country that’s known for it’s brutish, burly strong warriors would have a focus on drinking ale and mead and other alcoholic beverages?! DC Universe Online free to play in October

Good news for those of you wishing to get your superhero groove on, but not wanting to pay for it (you big cheapskates). The DC Universe Online MMO will be going free to play for PC and PS3 players in October. Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) is introducing three new access levels to the game, one of which will allow you to pay the game for free (albeit with restrictions). Chrono Trigger Coming to Android and iOS

I’m not even going to pretend that I didn’t squeal like a ten year old girl who just got a pony when I saw this.  Chrono Trigger was one of my favorite SNES games as a kid and now I’ll get to play it on my phone.  The “Square Enix Market” in the works is planning on porting other fun titles like Final Fantasy Legends, Itadaki Street, and Dragon Quest Monsters too.  There’s even a little teaser page where you can see all your friends and get giddy as freakin’ punch over it.

Porn Star ‘Gamer Girls’ launching new gaming site

Porn stars Alana Evans and Misti Dawn are starting up their own gaming website, which will feature “the stars and their friends playing topless and streaming every minute of gameplay.” Additionally, the performers will also be interacting with their fans. Dawn, who goes by the Xbox live tag Meowmistidawn, said “I’m very excited to share with our fans the new project we have started. Are you a gamer? Are you sick of pretend gamer girls? Yeah, us too. Time to pwn some n0000bs with our b00bs”

Battlefield 3 Operation Guillotine Gameplay footage

When DICE released a teaser trailer of the upcoming Battlefield 3 – Operation Guillotine, gamers were impressed with the visuals. Now more footage has surfaced of the operation, showing off how the game will play on the Xbox 360. Rejoice, for there is less brown in this footage (though there’s still a lot of brown).

Canceled Avengers Game footage leaked

Before THQ Australia was shut down, it was known that they were working on an Avengers game. Not much was known about the project, and aside from a few promotional artworks, not much had been released about the title. Today, alpha footage from the game has surfaced online, and from what the footage shows, it appears the game was going to be a first person brawler. Playable characters shown in the footage are Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor and Captain America.

Battlefield 3 Exec Producer claims Free DLC upsets gamers

Here’s a very interesting admission from one of DICE’s senior big wigs. Speaking in an interview with OXM UK, Battlefield 3 Executive Producer Patrick Bach claims that free DLC is not well received by the more hardcore user and that DICE have had much more positive responses to priced DLC than anything they have released for free.
