Rejoice, Playstation Minecraft players. Your long shared nightmare is finally over. After well over a year of waiting, the Mass Effect mash-up pack for Minecraft is finally available for purchase on all Sony platforms. Go ahead, let those tears of happiness flow. After you’ve all had a good cry, read on for the details.

It was all the way back in September 2013 when the Mass Effect texture pack was released for the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft. It’s taken over 18 months, but the pack has finally made it onto the Sony Platforms. Starting today, Minecraft players on the PS3, PS4 and PS Vita will be able to populate their Minecraft Citadels with blocky versions of Commander Shepard (both male and female), along with enough supporting characters to fill the Normandy many times over. A total of 36 character skins are available, spanning the entire trilogy, along with 22 music tracks and a recreation of the Mars Research Facility. The texture pack will also feature Mass Effect themed UI and menus.

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.
