This Week in Bummer News: Bioshock Edition

Ready to get bummed out?  No?  Too bad, this is bummber news.  Bioshock Infinite has been delayed.  You still with me?  I figured I’d do it like a band-aid, you know?  Super quick RRRRRIP!  While it was shaping up to be one of the biggest titles of 2012, we’ll now have to wait until the end of February, 2013 to get our hands on the game.  Read on for the reasons behind the delay, and even more bad news.  Or as I call it, a bonus bummer.

2K Canberra renamed; working on Bioshock Infinite

To say there has been recent upheaval within the games development industry in Australia would be an understatement, but for the first time in a while, we have good news to report. Rather than reporting on a studio closure or a large job loss as a result of low performing titles, this time we’re happy to report that 2K Canberra has been officially renamed 2K Australia, and that they will be working with Irrational Games on its upcoming blockbuster Bioshock Infinite.

Bioshock movie won’t go ahead unless it stays true to source material

In a refreshing change from the usual video game to movie transformational adaptations, Irrational Games head honcho Ken Levine has stated the Bioshock movie won’t go ahead unless it remains true to the game’s source material, and that Irrational have no interest in making a Bioshock movie simply to make a Bioshock movie.
