Joe, Author at Save Game - Page 47 of 52

About the Author: (@Joe_of_the_Dead) Lead Editor, Writer

Joe was born in a time of war. A console war. Two electronic titans were locked in a heated battle for the living rooms of America. Which titans, you ask? Well, the Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 of course. You see, Joe is old. So many of his favorite games tend to be on the older side as well. But that hasn’t stopped him from developing unhealthy obsessions with such modern franchises as Halo and Mass Effect. Just don’t tell him how long it’s been since the original Metroid was released. His aging heart can’t take the shock.

Epic cancels Bulletstorm 2, kicks puppy

bulletstorm

OK, only half of that headline is true.  I mean… Epic Games might kick puppies.  There’s no proof that they don’t, but I guess we should stick with “innocent until proven guilty” on that one.  Sadly, the other half of the headline is very true.  There will be no sequel to Bulletstorm, the over-the-top first person shooter that launched in early 2011.  Read on to see what the head of Epic Games had to say about Bulletstorm, and his reasons for pulling the plug on its sequel.

Mass Effect 3 Review Week: Joe’s Review

femshep

I still remember loading the original Mass Effect into my Xbox on Christmas Day, 2007, and creating the Commander Shepard that I have played as ever since.  It felt like I was creating my own personal avatar to explore a wondrous new reality, and the bond I formed with her that day proved to be a lasting one.  When Mass Effect 3 was released, my excitement was dulled by sadness.  Even with hundreds of hours played over two games, I wasn’t nearly ready to say goodbye to Annika Shepard.  But the drive to see her journey completed won out over […]

A few months ago, we reported that Bungie Studios, the developer behind the Halo series, would be making a major change to their online community in the near future.  As part of a larger shift away from Halo, and towards their next big thing, Bungie would be ending data collection for all of their Halo games.  Sadly, that change took effect yesterday.  Read on for the details, and some staggering final statistics from nearly a decade of Halo data collection.
